WESSEL VAN EEDEN

As a purpose marketeer and rebel cause, Wessel believes now is the time that we must together restore and protect ecosystems at large in order to mitigate global warming, secure food, and water, and protect biodiversity. For that reason, Wessel will deliver a talk in the domain of ‘Nature’ about how we can re-green the earth.

patrick van der meulen

Patrick will take you on a journey toward the future of energy! He is an entrepreneur with the mission to accelerate the global transition to sustainable, cheaper, and decentralized energy. He is the founder of solar energy supplier Enie.nl and Regional Coordinator of Al Gore's Climate Reality Project in the Benelux.

edward huijbens

Edward has focused his cultural geography research on tourism, landscape perceptions and transport, particularly in peripheral regions of the world. With a particular focus on tourism’s role in climate change, Edward has gained international recognition as a scholar in that field, promoting alternative tourism futures. With his expertise, Edward will share with us how to think of the ways we travel can be climatically sustainable.

nils joyeux

Nils served as an officer in the merchant navy and is the co-founder of Zéphyr & Borée, a company developing sail propelled cargo ships and is presently building the first 121 meters long modern sailing cargo ship. Zéphyr & Borée promotes the development of low-carbon maritime transport to reduce polluting emissions of the transport industry.

tim van hattum

With background experience as consultant, policy advisor and researcher in the field of water management and climate change, Tim is now the Program Leader Green Climate Solutions at Wageningen University & Research. Together with his team, the program has a mission to explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life and aims to contribute to climate action by creating evidence base for nature-based climate solutions.

birgit heidsiek

Birgit is the founder of the European Center for Sustainability in the Media World which organizes international events on environmentally-friendly film production. Aside from that, she publishes Green Film Shooting Magazine as well as its digital online platform. As the Green Cinema Consultant of the Federal Film Board in Germany, she is the author of The Green Cinema Handbook and is a two-time recipient of the German Sustainability Award.

Geert wiegertjes

With a personal interest in fish nutrition and health, Geert is the professor of Aquaculture and Fisheries at Wageningen University and President of the International Society of Developmental and Comparative Immunology. Partnering with WorldFish, his organization leads the CGIAR Research Program on Fish Agri-food Systems. Geert argues for an urgent and worldwide need for a sustainable production of fish in a world where demands for seafood are increasing rapidly.

catarina rolfsdotter-jansson

As a Swedish journalist, Catarina has devoted her career to writing and speaking about sustainability, primarily climate action. She is program host for We Don't Have Times online TV-programs about climate solutions, Content Director for A Sustainable Tomorrow, moderator and public speaker. Catarina has written 12 books and is co-founder of the international organization Our Kids’ Climate. With this skill set, Catarina will share with us how we can all become climate heroes and take action even when it’s imperfect!

With a Master’s degree in Law, Jos is a Carbon Specialist at the Climate Neutral Group in Utrecht, the Netherlands. He is helping firms lower their impact on the climate by using the carbon market. He has unique expertise in carbon pricing and in linking tradable commodities with transparency and climate policy. Jos will elucidate how ‘game theory’ can help shape climate change policy!
